Hennepin County Facility Services, Security Division is hiring a Security Systems Administrative Assistant to oversee and support security systems design, project management, documentation management, security system support and ticketing coordination with County staff and vendors, and other services related to County security systems and projects.
Location and hours:
Currently, this position is hybrid and performed both on-site at downtown Minneapolis and remote due to COVID-19 as job duties require. Once the COVID-19 emergency declaration is lifted, this position will be located on-site at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 South 6th Street, Minneapolis, MN 55487. Work hours will be Monday through Friday, between the hours of 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Nearby public transportation is available; offsite parking is available but no onsite parking is offered at this time.

This is a full-time, benefit earning position.
Starting September 1, 2021, all new job offers are conditional based on the candidate being fully vaccinated for COVID-19. “Fully vaccinated” means 14 days after receiving the second dose in a two-dose vaccination series approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on a full or emergency-use basis, or 14 days after receiving a single-dose vaccine approved by the FDA on a full or emergency-use basis. In this position, you will:Coordinate with business units and departments as directed for new security requirements and developments.
Monitor and triage physical security hardware support, maintenance, and service tickets, and coordinate repairs with vendors and business units accordingly.
Provide basic troubleshooting and triage functions for physical security systems issues.
Coordinate security systems and applications work with the appropriate support group in accordance with established protocols.
Prepare scope of work descriptions and compose proposal requests for project-specific requirements.
Develop budget estimates for projects and track work performed.
Work with consultants, design teams, and in-house staff to oversee and coordinate design, planning, and implementation of physical security systems for construction projects and security systems development, including review of contractor submittals, with general direction from Enterprise Security Program Manager.
Work with consultants, design teams, and in-house staff to plan and implement physical security measures for new facilities, existing facilities, and remodels.
Need to have:One of the following:Bachelor’s degree or higher in public administration, business administration, or another field appropriate to the position.
Four years or more of experience in general administrative work related to the management of departmental/organizational operations or in a specialty area appropriate to the position.
Nice to have:Experience:Working in customer service and support.
Working with call centers or service and support ticket queuing systems.
Basic technology systems and hardware triaging and troubleshooting.
Using FM Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, Cognos/Apex.
Facilities Management or construction.
